Speedboats with Powerful Outboard Motors from the 2019 Miami Boat Show
Every February, Miami becomes the center of the boating world for five days. The Miami International Boat Show is where builders and engine makers save their biggest launches, and 2019 was no exception.
The scale is hard to picture until you walk it. More than 1,400 boats were on display across roughly 3.5 miles of docks, and about 100,000 people came through. The show grounds cover around 90 acres, and the demo docks had more than 200 boats available for sea trials, so buyers could run a boat before writing a check.
We spend our days thinking about outboards, so we went looking for the boats that put them to the most dramatic use. These five stood out. Most of them sit at or above the million-dollar mark.

1. Adrenaline Powerboats ZRX47 Carbon Series
The ZRX47 is 47 feet of carbon fiber, built with an epoxy-infused layup and pushed by twin Mercury Racing 1100 turbo engines. Adrenaline quotes a top speed of 135 mph. The helm uses touchscreen controls that Adrenaline designed in-house, so nearly every system on the boat runs from one display. There is also a full cabin, reached from the center console and a forward hatch. Pricing starts at $1 million.
2. Cigarette Racing Tirranna
Cigarette Racing is a South Florida builder, and it used the show to open its 50th anniversary year with three new boats. The flagship was the 59-foot Tirranna, which hangs six Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboards off the transom for 2,400 total horsepower. Cigarette pitches it as part luxury sport yacht, part performance center console. Glass skylights set into a carbon fiber structure, LED lighting throughout, and a Poltrona Frau leather interior set it apart. Despite weighing about 40,000 pounds, it reaches roughly 72 mph. 3. Midnight Express 60′ Pied-A-Mer
Midnight Express brought a brand-new 60-foot center console, the Pied-A-Mer, with almost every part of the layout open to customization. Topside there are built-in sun pads, pop-up tables and a full captain’s helm. Below deck there are two master suites, a sofa and a galley. With four 627 hp outboards it runs past 70 mph, and inboard diesel options with surface drives push it toward 90 mph. Pricing starts at $2 million.
4. Technohull Omega 45
The Omega 45 is Technohull’s flagship, a 45-foot rigid-inflatable built in Greece that leans hard into luxury without giving up performance. A T-top shelters the center console and four wrap-around shock-absorbing seats. A wide teak-trimmed gunwale runs over the tubes. Technohull says it can top 90 mph and cruise above 60 mph. 5. Mystic Powerboats C3800
Mystic Powerboats builds in DeLand, Florida, and has spent more than 25 years making offshore catamarans, several of which have gone past 200 mph. The C3800 is the company’s first outboard-powered offshore cat. It pairs a 38-foot hull with Mercury Racing 400R outboards and tops 100 mph. The idea is to bring the handling of Mystic’s race boats to a boat that runs on dependable outboards. Pricing starts at $493,000.
